Guy Sibilla is a writer who happens to carry a camera around with him where ever he goes. When he’s not in Honolulu, Hawaii he may be in Yokohama, Japan. Sometimes Milan, Italy. It’s a long story. It began with his Italian father and Japanese mother and a military career that moved them and his siblings from the Pacific Ocean, across North America, across the Atlantic Ocean and then to Europe. Twice. Although at times he has threatened to “unpack,” that seems quite unlikely.
Since then he has traveled extensively for over thirty years throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Basin. As a contributing editor with Honolulu Magazine, his award-winning photographs and stories have appeared in the American, Asian and European press.
His first collection of travelogues entitled “Boarding Passes to Faraway Places” was recently released to critical acclaim. His second book, like his life, is still a work in progress.
